We Wish You a Merry Christmas Lyrics
“We Wish You a Merry Christmas” is an English Christmas carol from the West Country of England. The earlier history of the carol is unclear. The Bristol-based composer, conductor and organist Arthur Warrell is responsible for the popularity of the carol and has written it with Charlotte Yonge. The origin of this Christmas carol lies in the English tradition where wealthy people of the community gave Christmas treats to the carollers on Christmas Eve, such as “figgy pudding” that was very much like modern-day Christmas puddings.

We Wish You a Merry Christmas Lyrics
We wish you a Merry Christmas
We wish you a Merry Christmas
We wish you a Merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Good tidings we bring to you and your kin
We wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year
Now bring us some figgy pudding
Now bring us some figgy pudding
Now bring us some figgy pudding
Now bring some out here
Good tidings we bring to you and your kin
We wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year
For we all like our figgy pudding
For we all like our figgy pudding
For we all like our figgy pudding
With all this good cheer
Good tidings we bring to you and your kin
We wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year
And we won’t go until we get some
And we won’t go until we get some
And we won’t go until we get some
So bring some out here
Good tidings we bring to you and your kin
We wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year
We wish you a Merry Christmas
We wish you a Merry Christmas
We wish you a Merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
