This time John Abraham is flooding with patriotic-themed films. Previously seen in Parmanu and Satyameva Jayate, the actor is ready with RAW, scheduled for an April 5 releases. The film falls under Robbie Grewal directorial and is bankroll by Dheeraj Wadhawan, Ajay Kapoor and Gary Grewal. Just like Raazi, this spying thriller film revolves around the true events of Indo-Pak War in the year 1971.
This is Ajay Kapoor’s second collaboration with John Abraham after Parmanu. Earlier actor Sushant Singh Rajput was roped in for the title role in the film Just after the first trailer launch for Romeo Akbar Walter, John wrote in a tweet, “His dharma was to protect his nation against all evils and enemies. Here’s presenting the trailer of Romeo. Akbar. Walter. In cinemas on 5th April”. The trailer opens with Jackie Shroff declaring, ‘We are on the verge of a war with Pakistan’.
John Abraham in spy character
Jackie’s character trains John’s character to undertake a special mission ‘that could change the course of history for India’. “You will have to proceed with the knowledge that you are always being watched,” he is told by Jackie, who plays his handler. We see shots of John undergoing spy training, the movie scene looks very similar to the scenes of Raazi starring Alia Bhatt’s in the role of Sehmat. Talking about his upcoming film John had earlier said that he will sport eight different looks in the film as per the demand of the script.
The actor said,
“I will play everything from an 85-year-old man to a 26-year-old and this is the most challenging role of my life. I get good nervous energy when I am prepping for a difficult film and RAW is in that space.”
