‘Jhund’ Bollywood directorial debut of ‘Sairat’ director Nagraj Manjule has finally got a release date. The movie will hit theaters on September 20, 2019. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan as a soccer coach. ‘Sairat’ lead actors Akash Thosar and Rinku Rajguru will also join the undertaking. Mr. Bachchan began shooting for the film in December 2018. Bhushan Kumar, Savita Raj Hiremath and Nagraj Manjule are producing the upcoming project.
The Sairat director’s film is based on the life of Nagpur 73-year old resident Vijay Barse. He runs Slum Soccer, that coaches underprivileged children in football with the aim of creating well-being and empowerment through sport. Barse, a retired college sports teacher, started Slum Soccer in 2001. Jhund director Nagraj Manjule said in a statement “Teaming up with Senior Bachchan for the project is a dream come true.” He also added “ Amitabh Bachchan has always been my favourite legend and there was nobody other than him who fit the role perfectly and to do justice to this particular character.

The other people in the film are all new, and since he knows to work with fresh talent, I think the combination of Mr. Bachchan with this young team will be something to watch out for.

The first look from the film was also shared on social media, in which a group of children on a playground were seen cheering Bachchan. Worth to mention apart from Jhund, Amitabh Bachchan is playing pivotal roles in Sujoy Ghosh’s Badla and Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra.
