Director Reema Kagti has framed “Gold” which is an upcoming 2018 sports drama film produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the Excel Entertainment banner. It stars Akshay Kumar, Mouni Roy, Kunal Kapoor, Vineet Kumar Singh, Amit Sadh, Sunny Kaushal in key roles, and all set to release on Independence Day this year. On 10 December 2017, Akshay Kumar announced the completion of the movie while the teaser for the film was launched on 5 February 2018 which has already earned a good amount of bug among the viewers. The film, also marks the Bollywood debut of television gracious nagin girl Mouni Roy.
Gold is a fictional story which revolves around India’s first Olympic medal win as a free nation in the year 1948 at Games of the XIV Olympiad, London and is inspired by true events. Reema Kagti’s Gold is set during the British rule when Indians would represent England in various sports so you may see the national anthem of England playing. In this movie, Akshay Kumar is a hockey player who represents England but has a dream to represent India. Sources say that Sandeep Singh, the Arjuna Award winner and former Indian national hockey team captain, was signed to train the actors to improve their hockey skills. And the major shooting of the movie happened in Yorkshire and The Midlands, England.

As on Akshay Kumar’s demand it can be done just because Rajinikanth and Akshay’s much-awaited film ‘2.0’ has been pushed to release on August 15, so to avoid a clash between the two the actor has requested the same.
