Ghoomketu Movie Review
To be fair to director Pushpendra Nath Mishra who wrote up a beautiful story but somewhere didn’t succeed to make the audience satisfied. The film was finished sometime in 2014, but could not get a release for the last few years. The film actually belongs to its cast who are all seen putting in the extra effort. Nawazuddin is as natural as ever and is the right fit as Ghoomketu.
He clearly portrays a man who is clearly throwing beyond his weight and one cannot differentiate the actor from the character he is playing. It will be amazing to watch Ila Arun as Ghoomketu’s aunt. She is seen in all new avatars. There’s a hilarious scene in which she prays for Ghoomketu. Raghubir Yadav gives the film some of its fun moments as the short-tempered father.
The film’s climax is perhaps the best, the happy ending. The best part of Ghoomketu is the village sequences of Mahona. Pushpendra Nath Misra succeeded in creating a detailed world filled with lovable, eccentric characters which are vibrant and authentic. The language, accents and over all relationships shown will make you feel familiar with a passing connection to UP.
The film takes you on a roller-coaster comedy ride with each and every character playing their role with heart and soul. Each one of them supports the back story in their own unique way. Over all Ghoomketu is the dose of laughter each one of us deserves. With such brilliant performances by everyone this one can’t be missed.
